The weather forecast was for wind speeds in the low teens, with gusts on top of this, from the west/south west. There were six starters for the AM race, and the first lap did not pass without two capsize and near capsizes. The wind speed was very variable in certain areas of the course, and some blasting reaches in other areas. The wind headed to the west/north west after the lunch break, so a modified course was laid, with only four starters for this race. The gusts became difficult for one boat trying to gybe near mark 2, and he needed outside help to recover and retire. This was the final event of the Summer Series, so the overall results posted on the Racing Results page.
A new Autumn series starts next Sunday.
