Ours is a Watersport, and as such we should expect it to occasionally come from above as well as below! Steady rain did nothing to dampen the excellent racing conditions as the second of our annual Comet Race days got underway. Mike and Steve in the Club Trio, ‘Nomad’ were on fine form and raced away for the victory, even showing us the careful use of Spinnaker in some strong gusting conditions. Mal M. and Richard in Mr Bale’s Trio took second place, whilst third went to Nick and Terry in the Duo. Yes we all got very wet, yes we all needed appropriate clothing, and yes we all had great fun.
The day was wrapped up with Tea with Chocolate cake and presentations of prizes by the Commodore. Thanks to all the support from Alan and James of SYCSA who manned the SB and did the RO duties. Special thanks to all those members who braved the weather and took part to support the day. Next time it is raining and one questions whether to go sailing or not, look at the racing conditions and GO FOR IT!!!
