About us

We are a small, friendly sailing club on Durleigh Reservoir, near Bridgwater, with a sailing area of around 60 acres.

Most of our regular sailing is on the well attended, year round racing series. We also have pleasure sailors who just want to get out on the water, racing or not! Our sailing is on Saturday afternoons, Sundays, and Wednesday Evenings,  from late March to early December.

We are lucky enough to have SYCSA, a training center operating from our club, click here to go to their website.

Non-sailors can enjoy relaxing on the grassy banks and picnic benches and are welcome at a number of social events including the RYA Bart’s Bash and the Durleigh Festival, click here to go the events page.

The club house, sat right next to the water, has a club room, galley, changing rooms, showers, toilets and ample parking as well as a boat park and a slipway for easy launching. During the sailing season, tea, coffee, soft drinks and light refreshments are available from the Club Galley. Any profits go towards maintaining the Club.

The Club is entirely run by volunteer members who sit on our two committees. The main committee deals with the day to day upkeep of the club and managing events. The sailing committee deal with racing, rules and sailing affairs.
