Bart’s Bash Race results:
1st Lynn and Martin Harland
2nd Tom Abbot
Joint 3rd Ed Oliver and Dan Langdon
Total of £128.36 collected
We are raising money for the Andrew Simpson Foundation and would welcome as many Durleigh Salors as possible to take part, either by taking part in the racing or coming along as a spectator and purchasing a delicious cream tea, donated by members. Free cream tea for all racers. £5 entry fee. All money will go to the foundation.
The racing will be a fun event to encourage non-racers and handicap allowances will be made for new racers and fancy dress:
40 additional points for new racers.
30 additional points to each of the top 3 best dressed boats and crew.
15 additional points for all other dressed boats and/or crew.
To avoid collisions, all normal sailing rules apply but there will be no shouting “starboard” or “water”. Anyone caught shouting these words will have to do a 360 penalty. For ‘starboard’ replace it with “hello, how are you”, for ‘water’ or ‘water at the mark’, replace it with “nice weather for sailing”. All others, just be polite.
Please make the effort and come along. It should be a fun day.
The Day will start at 11am with a race, everyone is welcome to take part experts and novices alike.
BBQ around 1pm. Enjoy your free lunch while listening to our Band play.
Fun & Games On and Off the water for the young and old to take part in.
This event is Free to all DSC members but if you want to bring along guests it is £5 each .Children under twelve £3 each.
Icicle Series 2016

Just a quick reminder of the start dates for the season:
Wednesday evening sailing starts on 6th April
Saturday afternoon sailing starts on 9th April
The handbooks are ready and can be collected from the clubhouse next time you are up.
They are in a box, underneath the notice board.
They are in alphabetical order and I would be obliged if they could be kept that way as it will make it easier for all concerned.
P.S. Don’t forget to sign in
In order to qualify as CASC (Community Amateur Sports Club) 50% of our members must attend at least twelve times per year. As we have to be able to prove this, from now forward please can EVERYONE sign in EVERY TIME they come onto club premises.
If we cannot do this, we will lose our CASC status and its 80% business rate relief , this would mean having to increase the fees by 25%.
