You will notice a few committee members are doing more than one duty which isn’t really acceptable, plus we need a Vice Commodore. If any member feels they can help out and perhaps make a difference to the management of this club, the committee will be very pleased to hear from you.

to all our members.
Looking forward to seeing you on the water in 2018.
Please note: The reservoir and grounds will be closed by Wessex Water from Friday 22nd December throughout the Christmas and New Year period and will re-open again on Tuesday 2nd January.
Join us in the clubhouse to celebrate the end of another fantastic year of sailing. Racing will start at 11am and prizes awarded to the winners. Mince pies and mulled wine will be free to all members and available lunchtime. Even if you are not sailing, come along and enjoy the festivities.
The Winter Series starts on Sunday 5 November and concludes with the Christmas Pudding Race on the 10 December. Recreational sailors are welcome also.
Each sailor, racer and recreational, are required to do at lest one duty during the series. Please log into Dutyman, select ‘Volunteer for a Duty’ on the Roster page and click on the swap symbol to the right of the duty you would like to do. Once you have volunteered, you are automatically entitled to sail the series.
14 boats took part in Bart’s Bash. The variable northerly winds were quite challenging but most stuck it out for 3 races. The overall winners were Martin and Lynn Harland, with Scott Bonner and Dan Wright second and Mike Hayes and Steve Chidgey third. The majority of entrants wore fancy dress, the most outrageous of which was Sue Weston and Steve Briggs (Dirty Habits).
Big thanks to all those who made it happen.
Durleigh SC member, Terry Hayman recently entered his Redwing in his first Open at Instow. Although admitting he finished towards the end of the fleet, it was enjoyable and very good experience. Well done, Terry.
The following sailing duties are unallocated. Can any member who has not yet signed up for a duty this year, please do so asap. Either go to the Dutyman link to swap with ‘volunteer required’ or email firstname.lastname@example.org.

Another great Durleigh Regatta. Not the best turnout we’ve had despite perfect weather. but those that did, enjoyed a day of music, food, sailing and games. Big thank you to the band and all those that worked their socks off to make it happen.
