Big Rabbit Chase & Bart’s Bash Fundrasier
The race starts on the dot at 11.00am
This is our annual Pursuit race in memory of our friend and past Commodore, Richard Loveless. A great fun race for all to have a go at! If you are always at the back when racing, now is your chance to start first and see if the rest can catch you.
Simply, the boats with the slowest handicap set off first, followed at pre -determined offset intervals by the other classes. You all go around a big lap, and the faster classes try to overtake the slower boats who get a headstart. You are welcome to shout a friendly “big rabbit!” to anyone who you overtake, but be careful, they might overtake you later. The race starts on the dot at 11.00am, and the Winner is the boat in the lead at the end of one hour.
We usually get lots of entries for this fun race, so don’t be late and make sure that you register your dinghy class by 1030 in order to get your offset start time. All boats need to be on the water before eleven and wait clear of the racing line until their class is called forward.
Bart’s Bash fundrasier will be held as part of this event. Bart’s Bash is a national sailing charity in memory of Andrew Simpson. We would appreciate either a donation of £3 per entrant or donations for your Tea and Cake, which will go towards the Charity. We have been very kindly sponsored to provide the Cakes by Richard Lovelass family, so please give generously to help others enjoy sailing.
